Victoria was diagnosed with Stage 3C Low Grade Serous Carcinoma at age 26.

She faced immense challenges in her medical journey including multiple surgeries, and the loss of her reproductive organs. Hayden,her sweetheart since they were teens, and Victoria had always dreamed of having children so this was devastating to them.

Despite financial constraints due to her illness, their dream wedding became a reality thanks to the Forward Foundation’s support. Their wedding was a heartfelt, intimate celebration at a lakeside resort in the BC interior. Family and friends gathered for a weekend of camping, singing, and dancing.

Victoria and Hayden are big lovers of the outdoors; so the rustic setting amongst the trees spoke to their mutual love of connection with the land, and to each other. 

This magical weekend was a testament to their enduring love, and the strength of their partnership.

As Victoria shared herself “Even though our plans have changed, our love and support for each other remains stronger than ever. We’ve learned that we can handle whatever life throws at us. We’ve already proven our strength together for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. Cancer can take a lot away, but it can’t take away our love”.
