Holidays remind us to pause and appreciate the moments that bring us together.

Whether it's heading to the lake, watching fireworks, cheering on the home team, or simply enjoying the sunshine, these are the moments that become the memories we carry with us.

At Forward Foundation, we know that time together is one of life's greatest gifts. That's why we're honoured to help young adults living with life-limiting illnesses create meaningful experiences with the people they love most.

Some journeys are about so much more than the dest

Some journeys are about so much more than the destination.

For Mariah, travelling across Canada by train was a dream years in the making. Living with cerebral palsy and facing increasing mobility challenges, she wanted the chance to honour her late grandmother’s dream while creating beautiful memories of her own.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Forward Foundation community, that dream became a reality.

At Forward Foundation, we believe meaningful experiences aren’t just about where you go, they’re about the people you’re with, the memories you create, and the joy and connection you carry with you long after the journey ends.

Every donation, every sponsor, every volunteer, and every person who attends our gala helps make stories like Mariah’s possible.

As we continue planning for our 7th Annual Cayford

As we continue planning for our 7th Annual Cayford Gala and welcoming new creations of connections with new people, we wanted to share a bit of the story behind Forward Foundation for those who are new here.

In 2013, Christopher Cayford was diagnosed with cancer. Over the years that followed, he faced his illness with strength and grace, supported closely by his community. Together with nine others who were part of his “village,” a shared idea grew: that no young adult facing a shortened life expectancy should go without meaningful experiences shared with the people who matter most. From that, Forward Foundation was created.

That same purpose continues to guide our work today.
