Mariah
A family dream realized – with a ride of freedom.
Mariah, a young woman from Powell River with cerebral palsy, dreamed of travelling across Canada to fulfill her grandmother’s wish of seeing the country by train. Without a proper travel chair, even short trips were difficult, and the idea of exploring with her sister felt out of reach.
Thanks to the support she received, Mariah was gifted a new purple chair (her grandmother’s favourite colour) that gave her the independence and freedom to travel.
Together, the sisters honoured their grandmother’s dream, embarking on a cross-country journey that brought both adventure and cherished memories and more plans for travel in the future.
